Response to “functional fixidness” video.

Functional fixedness by definition is a cognitive bias that limits a person to using an object only in the way it is traditionally used. In this video, we can see a new brilliant invention that produces a light source using a very cheap, simple and unique method. Those intelligent youngsters created a light source using a simple plastic soda. Not only did that provide people with light in their houses (obviously) but it also gave the opportunity of making good use of those plastic sodas instead of throwing them away which also reduces waste in the environment. Those people managed to achieve their objective successfully by moving away from functional fixedness, that is thinking outside the box and laying aside the traditional uses of those plastic sodas (which is obviously drinking it). Finally, I believe that this is a great and cheap invention that we should all make use of.
